About Brevard County Court Records

Court records in Brevard County, Florida live across a handful of offices. The Clerk of the Circuit Court & Comptroller, the Brevard County Sheriff's Office, the State Attorney for the Eighteenth Judicial Circuit, and several statewide databases each hold a piece. We built this site so visitors can land on the right portal, address, or phone number on the first try, without bouncing between government websites.

Why We Built This Site

Florida gives the public broad access to court records under Chapter 119 of the Florida Statutes. The hard part is figuring out which office holds the file you want. Brevard County sits inside the Eighteenth Judicial Circuit, which also covers Seminole County. The Circuit Court hears felonies, family law, probate, and larger civil cases. The County Court hears misdemeanors, traffic, small claims, and civil disputes up to the statutory limit. Both courts file through the same office: the Brevard County Clerk of the Circuit Court & Comptroller, currently held by Rachel M. Sadoff. Add the Brevard County Sheriff's Office for the jail roster and active warrants, the State Attorney for prosecutions, the Public Defender for indigent defense, and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement for statewide criminal history checks, and the picture gets busy fast. We pull together the contact details, search portals, fee schedules, and request steps for each of these offices into one place.

What You Will Find Here

What We Cover Locally

Brevard County runs along Florida's Space Coast, with a population over 600,000 and several major courthouses. The Moore Justice Center in Viera is the primary trial court complex. The Harry T. and Harriette V. Moore Justice Center, the Titusville Courthouse, and the Melbourne Courthouse each handle specific case types and divisions. The Clerk's main administration office sits in Titusville. Cities we cover on this site include Palm Bay, Melbourne, Titusville, Cocoa, Rockledge, Satellite Beach, Cape Canaveral, Cocoa Beach, Indian Harbour Beach, Indialantic, Malabar, Melbourne Beach, Melbourne Village, Palm Shores, and West Melbourne. Each city falls under the same county clerk and the same Eighteenth Judicial Circuit, but local police records and city ordinance citations route through the city of arrest.

What We Cannot Do

This is a privately run reference site. We have no connection to any Florida court, clerk's office, sheriff's office, or state agency. There are real limits to what we can help with:

  • We cannot file paperwork or send records requests on your behalf
  • We cannot issue certified copies of any court document or vital record
  • We cannot give legal advice or explain how a specific case applies to you
  • We cannot guarantee that every phone number, fee, or address listed on this site is current right now

Only the issuing court or government office can provide a certified copy with an official seal. We can point you to the right office, but the document has to come from them. In Brevard, that means the Clerk of the Circuit Court & Comptroller for court files and recorded documents, the Florida Department of Health for vital records, and the Brevard County Sheriff's Office for jail and warrant records.

Search Partners

Some pages on this site include search boxes powered by third-party providers. Those companies set their own pricing and run their own services. When you use one of those tools and it leads to a paid signup, we may earn a referral fee. That revenue helps keep this site free for visitors. We do not control what those tools charge or what shows up in their results.

Keeping Information Current

Clerk offices move. Hours change. Phone numbers get reassigned. Fees go up. We update pages as we hear about changes, but gaps happen. Before you drive to a Brevard County courthouse, call the office first to confirm hours, fees, and what to bring.
